The role of the School Council is to bring together staff, parents and the community – in a culture of collaboration and support – to jointly contribute to the purpose and direction of the school. These representatives participate in a shared decision-making process.

The School Council is responsible for

  • policy developing and endorsing school policy

  • finances determining the school’s broad budget and overseeing the school’s financial reports

  • promotions presenting and promoting a positive image for the school

  • planning in response to the needs of the school and the local area, developing a plan for buildings, grounds and resources

  • reporting ensuring the school community is informed at least annually about the school’s performance.

The School Council’s current priorities are

  • develop and implement a long term plan for the school

  • create forums for the exchange of information and ideas

  • ensure the school’s financial viability and accountability.
