Recount of Lorin Nicholson's visit to the school by 3-6Mc class

Today a man called Lorin came to entertain us.

Lorin was a person who was legally blind. He could play the guitar very well.

First 3-6McP and all our school went to the hall to see Lorin play the guitar.

After that Lorin told us stories about what it's like to be blind. He put special glasses on Henry and other children so that they could know what it is like to be blind.

Lorin told us that he uses hearing and feeling to help him.

The best bit was when he played songs. It was funny when he dressed a guitar. He could feel his clock to tell the time. He was so smart.

Jess from Year 3 has been chosen as one of twelve finalists (out of 500 entries) to represent Australia in Colgate's Global "My Bright Smile" competition. Winners will have their drawings printed in the 2010 calendar.

Special Assembly for the Victorian Bushfire Victims

181 people are dead and it isn’t over, hundreds of houses have been destroyed and thousands of hectares of land have been destroyed. Countless numbers of animals are `dead and injured.

These fires are the worst bush fires in Australian History. And it is believed that some of these fires were deliberately started. The television and newspapers are providing updates. I get very sad when I find out that some children have lost their parents and some parents have lost their children. Whole towns have been wiped out.

Donations are taking place and donations whether big or small are making a difference. Thank you Lillie Carolan
